Our Philosophy
At Braidwood Early Learning Centre Children are at the forefront of everything that we do as Early Childhood educators and teachers, we view children as capable, inquisitive and inspiring individuals. Children are respected for their voices and opinions as they are an integral member of the community. Our goal is to support children in developing an understanding of themselves, the world around them and their place within it.
We Strive to create learning environments that encourage curiosity, independence, exploration, and a sense of belonging and wellbeing. At Braidwood Early Learning Centre, we believe children learn in an environment that provides opportunities for play-based learning, socialisation, observation and expressing themselves with others. Our learning environments focus on individual children’s strengths, interests and developmental needs.
At Braidwood Early Learning Centre, we strive to build a strong sense of community spirit by establishing respectful and collaborative partnerships with families and the broader community. We ensure to embrace the cultures, knowledge, and individuality that families bring to our learning community.
We believe in working together as a team to support each other’s wellbeing and to create a culture of kindness and respect. Everyone’s knowledge, views and ideas are continuously encouraged and evolving through reflective practice and professional development.

Educators adapt the routine, experiences, ideas and teaching strategies to promote equity and inclusion.
Educators use their knowledge of children, family, community and culture to guide the curriculum in conjunction with the EYLF and developmentally appropriate practice. Educators adapt the environment to appeal to the senses and allow for open-ended play opportunities.
This enables children to control the pace and extent of their own learning. We believe the best learning occurs when children’s interests are acknowledged and extended through play.
At BWELC we believe that all children have the right to their own identity.
Our goal is to create a community where children, families and early childhood educators work together to build and create a culture of caring, kindness and respect.
We aim to create a sense of belonging by honouring all cultures within our centre and embracing the wider community.

Our passionate educators are dedicated to providing inspiring learning environments that encourage independence, develop confidence and respect while guiding and nurturing each child’s individual development.

At BWELC we have become passionate about sustainability.
We believe that children’s education should help them to develop an understanding and respect for the environment in which they live in, to protect it and live peacefully within it.
We endeavour to embed sustainability into everyday practices with the children and families. We are committed to broadening our knowledge and creating a more positive impact on our environment.
